Blizzard and Tecnica are the new partners of the Südtirol Gardenissima

The historic twenty-fifth edition of the world's longest giant slalom in Val Gardena will from this year also count on the brands Blizzard and Tecnica, with a long-term commitment to support skiing in Val Gardena.

1st of April 2023. This is the date of the 25th edition of the Südtirol Gardenissima, the giant slalom classic that yearly celebrates the end of the skiing and racing season on the slope with 700 participants at the starting gate. The approximately six-kilometre course runs in Val Gardena starting from Seceda to the Col Raiser valley station, for an altitude difference of 1,033 metres. Over the years, fans of all ages and ski levels have challenged each other, including World Cup athletes such as Federica Brignone, Nicol and Nadia Delago, Christof Innerhofer and Alex Vinatzer. The course of the Südtirol Gardenissima starts with a parallel giant slalom for the initial kilometres, which merges into a single giant slalom course towards the finish, with an original format that has earned the name 'the longest and toughest giant slalom in the world'.

For the historic 25th edition, the Südtirol Gardenissima will be able to count on a new Golden Sponsor pairing: Blizzard and Tecnica.

"We are thrilled about this new partnership with a classic of competitive skiing like the Südtirol Gardenissima, which renews our commitment to the world of racing at every level," explains Marco Aliprandi, Italy’s marketing manager for Blizzard and Tecnica. "From this year we are back in the World Cup alongside our young team rider Lara Colturi, at her first experience at the highest level of skiing. This is the first result of our strategy in the competitive sector, which invests in young talent representing the future of our sport. The sponsorship of Südtirol Gardenissima fits perfectly into this approach, with a competition that brings together in a single ski festival both World Cup athletes and kids.

The sponsorship of Südtirol Gardenissima also strengthens and highlights the special relationship between the two brands and Val Gardena. In fact, from this season Blizzard - Tecnica will be opening a new centre of excellence at the Dantercepies cable car valley station in Selva Val Gardena, where it will be possible to test and rent the Blizzard range of skis and Tecnica ski boots, as well as finding all the technical assistance for the perfect tuning of the two brands' materials, including C.A.S customisation of the ski boots.

"For us, Val Gardena is an iconic place for skiing, towards which we have a long-term strategy," continues Marco Aliprandi. "The new centre will allow us to stay even closer and offer specialised assistance to skiers who love performance and comfort. Furthermore, our two brands will be even more visible thanks to the cooperation developed with many ski instructors in Val Gardena, who from this season will use our materials, also in combination with POC helmets, which is our strategic partner in this resort, also as the new Gold Sponsor of the Südtirol Gardenissima".
