Südtirol Gardenissima is the giant slalom ski race, which will take place for the 24th time in Val Gardena on Saturday 02 April 2022. The run is 6 km long, starting up on the peak of Seceda and finishing at the bottom station of Col Raiser with an altitude difference of 1.033 m.

  1. In the race there may participate skiers of national ski teams, athletes with and without FISI or FIS points and born before 31.12.2007. The competitors start in pairs on parallel giant slalom runs which after the first kilometre become a single run.

  2. The race starts at 7.30 a.m. with departure gates as for parallel slalom. Where the two racetracks come together (slightly below the Daniel hut), you have to pass in between the two gates (these gates are marked with two double red/blue flags). The athletes of the national ski teams and athletes competing in the European Cup or South American Cup in the 2020/21 or 2021/22 seasons will start individually every 30 seconds on run A.

  3. Participants are classified as: athletes of national ski teams or competing in the European Cup in the 2020/21 or 2021/22 seasons, juniors, seniors, master A, master B and master C for men, master D for women. For participants without FISI or FIS points season 2021/22 there will be separate categories. The starting order of the categories may change at any time prior to the start of the very first participant. Other categories may be added by the Organisation Committee at its own discretion.

  4. Registrations must reach the O.C. accompanied by the registration fee (see point 17) and medical certificate of sound health. The O.C. will close registrations when the number of 680 athletes has been reached. Cancellations, with entitlement to the repayment of the registration charge, must be communicated by e-mail ( until the closing of the registrations and not later then the 1.03.2022, together with a medical certificate, which confirms the medical grounds for non-participation. The fee paid for the FISI card cannot be repaid in any circumstances.
    Should the race be cancelled or not take place, the registration fee will not be refunded.

  5. Participants will receive a 50% discount on the Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi ski pass for one, two or three days (Friday 01st April, Saturday 02nd April, Sunday 03rd April 2022).

  6. Registration gives the right to an inspection of the run (once only and only when in possesion of the race bib), setting off from the departure gates on the day of the race itself from 6.15 to 7.15 a.m. Race bibs will be distributed on Friday 01st April 2022 between 4.00 and 7.30 p.m. direct at the Iman Centre in S. Cristina.
    The cable car Col Raiser is open from 6.00 a.m. and the cable car Seceda is open also from 6.00 a.m..
    Departure numbers are assigned in the single categories as follows: for those with FISI or FIS points departure is in order of reverse ranking merit prescribed by FISI or FIS regulations and for those with no FISI or FIS points standing in accordance with the order of arrival (first three) in last year's race.

  7. Use of the helmet is obligatory and helmets may be rented at different ski rentals in Val Gardena. Furthermore, all participants are required to carry an identity card in their race clothing.

  8. Results will be published on Saturday 02nd April 2022 in the arrival zone and at the Iman Centre, and it is at the Centre that the prize-giving ceremony will take place at 3.30 p.m. To accept prizes the participant must be present at the prize-giving ceremony. Athletes of national Alpine ski teams group "A", "B", and "C" and athletes competing in the European Cup in the 2020/21 or 2021/22 seasons are exonerated from the payment of the registration fee. Journalists can contact Participants who in the past have taken part in a World Cup or European Cup race and aged at least 30 are automatically included in the "Ski legends" category.
    The winner of the last edition can compete in the following edition as the "title holder", starting automatically in the category of the FIS athletes.

  10. The O.C. reserves the right to change the rules if necessary in the interests of the effective running of the race.

  11. Claims: any claim in form of an appeal or other must be made within 30 minutes of the race referee's report being released and must be accompanied by a deposit of Euro 50,- to consider non-refundable should the claim not be upheld.

  12. If in any category there are not at least six participants the O.C. may decide to admit the participants to another more numerous category.

  13. For all matters not specifically provided for the O. C. shall refer to the federal technical rules (FISI-Rules).

  14. In the event of poor snow conditions the competition may be put back, cancelled or shortened. The slope conditions are clearly weather-dependent and may be different from participant to participant.

  15. The O.C. reserves to itself the right to change individual clauses at any time prior to the departure of the first competitor.

  16. Every participant implicitly authorises the O.C. to use for advertising purposes photos and videos taken during and after the event.

  17. Payments of registration fees which are received after registrations are closed will not be refunded. This also applies if more than the required fee is paid.
    If the registration fee is not accompanied by the declaration of medical and sporting fitness, the O.C. reserves the right, following a reminder, to cancel the registration. In this case the fee paid will not be refunded.

The "Südtirol Gardenissima 2022" will be on SATURDAY, 02.04.2022 and the "Südtirol Gardenissima KIDS 2020" will be on SUNDAY, 03.04.2022.


Ski Test Gardenissima 02-03.04.2022

All participants of Gardenissima and Gardenissima KIDS (8-13 years) can participate for free at the "Ski Test Gardenissima".


Cancellation Südtirol Gardenissima 2021

Due to the new government decree, the 24th edition of the Südtirol Gardenissima and Gardenissima Kids had to be cancelled.
