Regulations

Participation

In the race there may participate skiers of national ski teams, athletes with and without FISI or FIS points and born before 31.12.2009. The competitors start in pairs on parallel giant slalom runs which after the first kilometer become a single run. The registration must be submitted to the Organizing Committee together with the registration fee. A sports medical certificate is also required for participation in the Südtirol Gardenissima.



Start

The race starts at 7.30 a.m. with departure gates as for parallel slalom. Where the two racetracks come together (slightly below the Daniel hut), you have to pass in between the two gates (these gates are marked with two double red/blue flags). The athletes of the national ski teams and athletes competing in the European Cup or South American Cup in the 2022/23 or 2023/24 seasons will start individually every 30 seconds on run A.



Categories

Participants are classified as: athletes of national ski teams or competing in the European Cup in the 2022/23 or 2023/24 seasons, juniors, seniors, master A, master B for men, master C for women. For participants without FISI or FIS points season 2022/23 or 2023/24 there will be separate categories. The starting order of the categories may change at any time prior to the start of the very first participant. Other categories may be added by the Organization Committee at its own discretion. If in any category there are not at least ten participants the O.C. may decide to admit the participants to another more numerous category.



Cancellations

The O.C. will close registrations when the number of 700 athletes has been reached. Cancellations, with entitlement to the repayment of the registration charge, must be communicated by e-mail (gardenissima@valgardena.it) until the closing of the registrations and not later than the 01.03.2024, together with a medical certificate, which confirms the medical grounds for non-participation. The fee paid for Aiut Alpin insurance cannot be repaid in any circumstances.



Event cancellation

If, for reasons of force majeure, the event does not take place, the participation fee will not be refunded. In the event of poor snow conditions, the competition may be put back, cancelled or shortened. The slope conditions are clearly weather-dependent and may be different from participant to participant.



Skipass

Participants will receive a 50% discount on the Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi ski pass for one, two or three days (Friday 22nd of March, Saturday 23rd of March, Sunday 24th of March 2024).



Race courses

Registration gives the right to an inspection of the run (once only and only when in possession of the race bib), setting off from the departure gates on the day of the race itself from 6.15 to 7.15 a.m. Last possible entrance in the upper part of the slope at 7.00 a.m., in the lower part of the slope at 7.10 a.m.
The cable car Col Raiser is open from 6.00 a.m. and the cable car Seceda is open also from 6.00 a.m.


Race number distribution

Race bibs will be distributed on Friday 22nd of March 2024 between 3.00 and 7.30 p.m. direct at the Cultural Centre of Selva Val Gardena.



Security

Use of the helmet is obligatory and helmets may be rented at different ski rentals in Val Gardena. Furthermore, all participants are required to carry an identity card in their race clothing.



Results and prizegiving

Results will be published on Saturday 23rd of March 2024 in the arrival zone and at the Iman Centre, where the prize-giving ceremony will take place at 3.30 p.m. To accept prizes the participant must be present at the prize-giving ceremony. The starting list and the results list may also be found and referred to on www.gardenissima.eu. 



FIS athletes/journalists

Athletes of national Alpine ski teams group "A", "B", and "C" and athletes competing in the European Cup in the 2022/23 or 2023/24 seasons are exonerated from the payment of the registration fee. Journalists can contact pr@valgardena.it. Participants who in the past have taken part in a World Cup or European Cup race and aged at least 30 are automatically included in the "Ski legends" category.



Variations

The O.C. reserves the right to change the rules, if necessary, in the interests of the effective running of the race. The O.C. reserves to itself the right to change individual clauses at any time prior to the departure of the first competitor.



Claims

Any claim in form of an appeal or other must be made within 30 minutes of the race referee's report being released and must be accompanied by a deposit of Euro 50, - to consider non-refundable should the claim not be upheld.



FISI - regulations

For all matters not specifically provided for the O. C. shall refer to the federal technical rules (FISI-Rules). In accordance with the Federal Alpine Skiing Regulations, it is strictly forbidden to enter the race course even for participants who have already finished the race.

Photography Policy

During the race, photographs or videos may be taken for documentary and promotional purposes. By participating, you implicitly consent to being photographed and recorded, unless expressly waived. The O.C. accepts no liability in the event of loss or theft of one's personal belongings.
